Delta for People-Oriented Places, or Del-POP, is a community-driven advocacy group in Delta dedicated to making the city more inclusive and accessible. They focus on housing policies and land-use decisions to create a city where people of all backgrounds and income levels can thrive. Delta resident Norm Van Eeden Petersman leads the group. He spoke to Ladner Rotary on October 20, 2026.

Del-POP  has been advocating for more housing choices, people-first urban design, sustainable development, and equity and accessibility. It has successfully advocated for the City of Delta’s Housing Action Plan and supported the Ladner Village Revitalization Plan, promoting mixed-use and multi-family housing in the historic district. They also endorse responsible town center development in Ladner, Tsawwassen, and along the Scott Road corridor.

Del-POP's efforts are part of a broader movement to address the housing crisis in Delta, which includes the City of Delta’s Housing Action Plan and the Official Community Plan. These initiatives aim to create a more diverse and affordable housing supply, improve public spaces, and support the development of people-oriented places.
