Charan Gill presented to the Ladner Rotary Club on April 16 and spoke about PiCS, Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society.
Charan founded PICS in 1987 when he saw the need for services for immigrants, youth, seniors and the working poor in the community.  He has taken his many years of experience as a Social Worker and Community Activist to work on developing and implementing practical solutions to the community's needs.

PICS was established as a one man organization and has developed into an extremely effective major community organization with over 100 staff members. pICS offers many programs and services including language and settlement services, employment programs, housing for seniors, training and programs for women and youth. 

Charan has been a tireless fighter for farm workers and has made a difference in the lives of many persons and families in need.  Charan has devoted his life to working towards the betterment of his community because he believes that all people have the right to exercise their democratic rights and to live a happy, healthy and prosperous life
