Tourist Accommodation in Ladner Village
As the City seeks input from the community in preparing its Expression of Interest (EOI) from developers to submit proposals for a tourist accommodation, some of the themes which have come community input include:
• reflect the historic character of the village in the design and finishings;
• incorporate a square or market feel (i.e., patio, coffee shop, breakfast place, flower stalls, fresh produce);
• leverage local suppliers and products (i.e. hotel supplies, farm produce in restaurants, local artwork);
• consider the streetscape, include wide sidewalks and step buildings back from the street;
• incorporate natural elements such as greenspace and a water feature;
• consider transit and active transportation and provide adequate parking;
• include amenities for locals (i.e., bike racks, rooftop restaurant, wine bar, and live music);
• consider factors such as accessibility and environmental impacts in design and construction.

Mayor and Council have been advocating to Fraser Health Authority and the Ministry of Health about the lack of Urgent Care and Primary Care in Delta in both South Delta and North Delta, lacking when many other communities have them. These health facilities are needed not only for local residents, but for the many workers at Deltaport, Roberts Bank, BC Ferries Tsawwassen terminal and Tilbury and Annacis Island industrial parks. Council approved Urgent Care and Primary Care in Delta 2 for South and North Delta

Ferry Road boat launch
The Ferry Road Boat Launch opened on February 19, 2025. The newly constructed boat launch incorporates a longer overall ramp and extended float, which improve the structure‘s function outside of high tide and increase boat capacity. The project also included dredging work to remove sediment on the approach to the ramp, allowing increased access during low tide conditions.

Fentanyl problem and the option of a new model of port police
Mayor Harvie has been advocating for funding and resources to enhance security at Deltaport, based on a report the City of Delta commissioned on the ongoing security challenges facing Deltaport especially ahead of the anticipated expansion of Roberts Bank Terminal 2 which has renewed concern by leaders at all levels of government over the state of port policing.
