DELTASSIST COUNSELLING SERVICES

Substance Use Services
Counselling for adults, youth, and children who are engaging in substance use, or are impacted by another's substance use. This program provides screening, counselling, groups, referrals, education, and prevention.

Alternatives To Violence Programs Services may include outreach, individual and/or group counselling, advocacy, accompaniment, and referrals.
Stopping the Violence: Provides counselling to people who have experiences (present or past) with relationship abuse/violence.
Survivors of Sexual Abuse: Counselling for self-identifying women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse 
Sexual Assault Services: Support services (non-counselling) for self-identifying women who have experienced a recent sexual assault

Seniors Counselling Program
Community and Self-Referral
Short-term counselling for Delta residents 55+, supporting individuals as they address concerns in their lives.
Referrals to community-based resources, as needed.

Young Parent Outreach Program
Community and Self-Referral
Young parents are supported to reach personal goals while enhancing practices that will encourage the healthy
life of their children.
Parenting Program
A 6-week parenting program for parents of children up to 5 years. Information about children's health, behavior, development, and safety is provided. Confidence in parenting is supported and encouraged through peer support and social connection. Childcare and transportation assistance are provided.

Self-Referral Counselling
Masters-level practicum students provide counselling for concerns outside of our current program offerings.
Based on intern availability. North Delta office.

Child & Youth Suicide Intervention Program
MCFD & School Referral
Risk assessments and short-term counselling provided to children and youth (up to 18 yrs.) who meet program eligibility criteria. Other services may include: education, coordinated community respons family support, and consultation with Delta schools

Outreach Family Services
MCFD Referral Only
Counselling, education, and support to parents, assisting them to build on existing parenting skills, strategies, and knowledge.

Family Development Response
MCFD Referral Only
Short-term counselling to families, assisting them to develop effective parenting skills while
addressing communication, conflict-resolution and decision-making. Information to other applicable resources will be provided.

Healthy Families Program
MCFD Referral Only
Provides timely assessment, education, counselling, support, and outreach services for families. Assists
parents to increase their parenting effectiveness

Supervised Visitation
MCFD Referral Only
Supervised visitation is provided to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children during visits with
family members.

Child Care Worker Program
MCFD Referral Only
Provides one-to-one support to children regarding emotional regulation, social skill development, and mental wellness
