Dr Don somehow managed to comandeer, oops, find some friends who wanted to help him again with the noxious spartina removal this past weekend! New Rotarian Sandra and La Diva came by to assist and it turned out to be a lot of fun and some new friendships were made. Don's friend Bob somehow forgot not to trust Dr Don with a dare and tried to cross the boggy wetland to the next clump of grasses and found himself having an impromptu organic mud bath. Now we know that people pay big bucks for a treatment, but this one was not planned. Somehow after all the laughing and losing one of his boots (which he'd owned since 1984), Bob managed to get out of his mud bath and walk back to dry land not smelling so pleasant, but at least with one boot and 2 socks rescued.

Afterward we went next door to the Beach Grove Cafe and sat outside enjoying the great weather, and making sure that Don and Bob were downwind from the rest of us enjoying our beverages outdoors.

There will be another spartina project planned by Dr Don coming up soon, maybe this coming weekend. It will depend on the tides and will be focused on a patch that is right on Centennial Beach near where Bob and his wife live. We hope that the same group and also more will come and participate in this engaging and fun event that helps with our environment.

Thanks to all who helped.
