Future of Tsawwassen First Nations development

Numerous development projects are underway on the TFN. Many will change the face of South Delta.
On speaker on April 15, 2014 was Andrea Jacobs –
Manager, Community Outreach for The Tsawwassen First Nations.
The Manager of Community Outreach helps to inform TFN Members and the larger community of activities and related opportunities through the creation of marketing and communication pieces and presentations to the TFN and surrounding communities. Additionally, she provides a variety of services to support the growth of TFN small businesses, clerical and office duties, and generally all any activity to assist the Corporation deliver on its mandate to TFN Members.
On April 3, 2009, Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) became a Treaty First Nation under the terms of the Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement. Since the signing of the Treaty, TFN has successfully advanced its economic development aspirations. Tsawwassen Economic Development Corporation was incorporated November 1, 2009. Guided by a Letter of Expectations issued by TFN Executive Council and a Board of Directors, TEDC is able to put business first to support the development of a sustainable economy, the creation of job opportunities for Tsawwassen Members, and increased revenues for TFN programs and services.
The TFN Economic Development Corporation is to play a leadership role in the creation of a sustainable economy for TFN. Focusing on developing TFN’s land assets to generate revenues for TFN and create jobs and business opportunities for TFN members.
TFN has 450 members with about half living on TFN lands. TFN is 724 hectares.
