Global educator Dr. Avis Glaze

Dr. Avis Glaze:
- one of five commissioners on the Ontario Royal Commission on Learning, making recommendations that contributed to the Ontario school system;
- Ontario's first Chief Student Achievement officer and Founding CEO of the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat;
- appointed Adviser to the Minister of Education in New Zealand on national standards;
- Adviser to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne;
- written books and articles on education works with educators around the world, consulting in some 40 countries and states;
- received the Robert Owen Award, the first of its kind offered in Scotland;
- invited to Norway last November by Queen Sonya to address the issue of "Can schools build better societies?"
