More than a quarter of Canadians report having a disability. Disability onset often occurs in mid-life, beginning around age 53. Less than half of those reporting a disability are employed, but many them who want to work say they would accept employment if barriers were reduced. Allison Grimwood, of Kyndred Society which supports those people who want to work, along with Neha Atwal, WorkBC Centre employment specialist for Delta, explain how they help not only those marginalized job seekers, but organizations seeking employees.
