For achievement in its work to Light Up Rotary, Rotary District 5040 has recognized the Delta Secondary School Interact Club in Ladner with the 2014-15 Presidential Citation.
 
Rotary District 5040 includes 52 clubs throughout the Lower Mainland and the western half of mainland BC. There are 23 Interact clubs associated with those Rotary clubs, of young people based at high schools or in the community.
 
Some achievements of the 21 Interact Club members at Delta Secondary School in Ladner are:
• November 2014: asked fellow students what they would like to remember on Remembrance Day and the students wrote on poppies posted in the foyer for everyone to read;
• December 2014: held a lunchtime Christmas bake sale in the school foyer with proceeds to filling “shoe box presents” for lower income families in our community; on two Saturdays partnered with Port Metro Vancouver’s local office to run a gift wrapping service with almost $1000 in proceeds to the Delta Life Skills Society summer camp for kids with disabilities;

• February 2015: Valentine’s Day bake sale with almost $150 in proceeds to the Third World Eye Care Society;
• March 2015: partnered with the Third World Eye Care Society, collecting almost 20 pairs of glasses for people in Tabloban, Philippines;
• May 2015: sent a member to Rotary Adventures and Citizenships in Ottawa May 2-6; hosted yoga in the the park with herbal tea samples to raise awareness for mental health;
• June 2015 (planned): during a school lunch hour sell Krispy Kreme Doughnuts with proceeds to a student with a serious illness.
