Louise Latremouille's parents inherited a computer from one of their children when it was replaced by a new one. But they didn't really know how to use the machine that sat in their kitchen in Nelson, B.C. They had really avoided technology. They had, maybe only a year before, agreed to get an answering machine,” says Louise Latremouille, who at the time was living on the other side of the country in Nova Scotia.
With a family scattered all over Canada, and her father recently diagnosed with cancer, they had plenty of incentive to learn. She couldn't find a guide that was basic enough, so she started writing them crib notes to get them started. 

The notes started being shared and finally became her first book “My Parents First Computer and Internet Guide”. She wrote her first book using PowerPoint because it was the only way she knew how to put the graphics with the text. She was unable to find a publisher and started selling it at the local drug store.  Through a contact she got into Coles and then Chapters/Indigo.

Louise moved from Halifax to Tswassassan. She continues her successful publishing business in our community.

Louise has had 5 books published. Her first book is in its fourth edition.  Her newest and 6th book is “My Parents Have an I-Pad". 

In memory of her father her books have raised more than $40,000 for cancer research prevention.
