- the new President of Rotary Ladner

 - President of the Rotary Club of Ladner 2014-2015

Born in Vancouver on the cusp of the baby boomers, Patricia Sibley spent the majority of her life in Ontario.  Early in her life, Patricia set the mark of walking to the beat of her own drummer.  For example, having been raised in the Catholic School, Patricia stunned the Sisters, friends and her parents as she, at the age of fifteen, slept all night in front of Maple Leaf Gardens waiting for Beetle tickets to go on sale.

With ten years as a consultant for eighteen NGOs, Charities and Housing Cooperatives back east, Patricia provided her clients with accounting, management, and facilitation services.  As a former housing manager, she brought her expertise in property management as a one of the tools for in-house staff development. Her solid knowledge base and excellent crisis management skills have helped pull several not-for-profits through difficult periods.  Patricia was elected to the finance committee of the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada for several terms and she also was elected to the board of Metro |Credit Union.

Returning home to B. C. in 2001, Patricia landed the position of Production Accountant in Victoria for Pryor Productions Inc. This was a $1.8 million movie of the week entitled Croon.  Patricia opened her own consulting business for QuickBooks accounting software and developed and taught at Vancouver Island University on QuickBooks for 6 years.

Patricia has carried her love of folk music from Ontario: Mariposa, Summerfolk, Heritage River, Eaglewood festivals to BC and is currently the volunteer Stage 6 stage manager for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in July.

Patricia joined Rotary club of Parksville AM October 2003. Patricia was their Club Secretary: Nov 2003 to June 2006. She served on the World Service Committee (International) for four years.  At the District Leadership training assembly in 2006 Patricia was the Facilitator for Secretaries and in 2007 was on the organizing team.  Patricia was the alternate team leader for a GSE team to Norway and the delegate to RI 2007 Salt Lake City.  She was a youth exchange Host Parent for Kena Aquilar, spring 2005.

In 2008, Patricia relocated to Ladner with a family emergency for 6 months and joined the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen.  She served on a multi-club Shelter Box committee and worked on a fundraising event for Shelterbox with Tom Henderson.  In 2010, circumstances changed again for Patricia and she moved to the Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach.  She served on the board, Mid-Island World Service Committee and on the roster team.  In 2013, Patricia moved with her family to assist with the complications with kindergarten and Mike Storey was the friendly face to welcome her to our club.
