Take thousands of coloured lights, hundreds of cups of hot chocolate, dozens of children’s craft trappings, add a fire truck bringing a special guest and you have a very successful Christmas festival.

Saturday night the Rotary Club of Ladner turned on the Christmas lights in Memorial Park.  Three 40 foot tall decorated trees and the gazebo now sparkle for the Christmas season.

President Bridget Jacob was joined by Mayor George Harvey and MP Carla Qualtrough to turn on the lights.  The children watched the Delta Fire and Rescue truck deliver Santa. Each child then had the opportunity for a personal consultation with Santa.  A few of the older children also sat with Santa including Mayor Harvey, President Bridget, and Chief Constable Neil Dubord.

The children with the help of DSS Interact members and Rotarians made a variety of Christmas decorations, consumed endless cups of hot chocolate and devoured dozens of cookies.
