New member inducted

Ken Whitney is the newest member of the Rotary Club of Ladner. He was inducted into the club by Denis Denischuck and presented with his Rotary pin by President Linda Cran.

Ken Whitney is retired from a career in music education. He is a former military Band Master and former director of the British Columbia Regimental Band and is still active in a variety of military associations.

Ken is a past president of the Rotary Club of Richmond and former member of the Rotary Club of Vancouver Arbutus which he joined in 1987. Ken and his wife Linda live in Twassassen. Linda is a member of the Rotary Club of Richmond.

Ken was born in Guyana. While a young man, his love of music and his developing skills as a musician led him to join what was then the British Military Band. As time went on, Ken made the transition to the Canadian Military Band which led to his immigration to Canada.
