Our Program is Carol Thatcher and Lionel Wilson from InspireHealth. This centre is Canada's foremost integrated cancer care centre, leading the way through research and innovative cancer care programs integrated with conventional cancer treatment. Since 1997, InspireHealth's medical doctors have helped guide more than 5,500 patients to integrate research-informed natural approaches to health into their cancer treatment and recovery. There is growing evidence that these natural approaches to supporting health and immune system function can significantly decrease the risk of cancer recurrence and increase survival. Our own Myrna Sakata and Claudette Hayward have benefited from their approach. As we do not want the speakers to run out of time, we will keep Denis’ Rotary Moment short.

This weekend is our District Conference at the River Rock Casino. Even if you are not attending drop by during the breaks and enjoy the fellowship.

Enjoy our Heritage! Richmond and Delta are hosting The Heritage Fair this Friday/Saturday at the Richmond Cultural Centre, (Minoru and Granville). To mark the occasion, the city of Richmond will have many museums and heritage places open to the public free of charge May 7 and 8. The Delta Youth Awards dinner and ceremony will take place Saturday May 14^th, starting at 5:30, at the Town and Country. Reserve the date!

Great Field trip! Thanks to Amir, the manager of the Delta T&C, Ladner and some Tsawwassen Rotarians enjoyed a preview of the new development at the Tsawwassen Golf Club. The units enjoy a commanding view of the mountains or the Bluff and enjoy an enviro-friendly heating and cooling system. It’s a great addition to our area.

Easter Egg Hunt: The children at REACH enjoyed the support of our members in making baskets and
decorating eggs. Irene will give us a full account tomorrow.

Leave a literacy legacy of the 2011 District Conference. Please bring a book to the conference or, if you are not attending but wish to support this project, send your book with Mike Storey, Lynn or your supreme leader. If each of the more than 300 Rotarians and friends of Rotary attending the conference bring one book, we
will leave an important legacy in Richmond.

Check your personal information in the Roster and send any update to Mike Storey. Several of you have changed addresses and/or e-mails. Many of you have not listed your cells. We know who you are and where
you live!

Birthdays and anniversaries: Stacey Boyda’s BD is this Friday. Beryl and Michael Cruise’s anniversary is tomorrow.

Three Ambassadorial Scholars will be coming in the summer to study at UBC or BCIT next year. The District is looking for club sponsors and a counselor for each student. The job is not onerous and it doesn’t cost the club anything. The Rotarian host counselor is an important member of the Rotary Foundation team who: provides direct assistance to ensure a smooth transition for the scholar in the study country; in some cases accepts the scholar’s first payment; provides budgeting advice and other counseling as needed during the study year; arranges visits to club meetings, district functions, and other Rotarian events and homes; assists, as may be requested, with any closing tasks at the end of the award period. The host counselor should commit for the entire award period. We will discuss our sponsorship at our next board meeting.
