Rev. Simbarashe (Simba) Basvi, rector for St. Davids Anglican Church in Tsawwassen, has joined the Rotary Club of Ladner. Simba was inducted as a new member at the Ladner Rotary Christmas dinner on December 19th. Simba has been serving the St. David's parish for two years with his wife, Mebbo. They have three children. After primary and secondary school he began teaching English as a Foreign language in Mozambique as part of a missionary organization project. Inspiration from that missionary work led him to becoming ordained as a priest in 2003.
Simba has served as a Rector, school chaplain, lay training officer and in theological education and in social development. He enjoys working with grassroots communities to develop leadership and bring about shalom and community well being.

He has an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master's Degree in development studies from the Midlands State University and a Master of Transformational Development Degree from the Eastern College of Australia.
