The Analytics of Polling

Delta resident, Jim Holt has a background in public affairs and the arts. He has shifted to analytics to track demographic shifts. 

He has done polling for community papers in Alberta and BC. The Delta Optimist is a client. His work is focused on marketing and demographics. He describes his work as data mining for labour data, tax information, income levels and age distribution all publicly available information if you know where to look. He tracks the data down to neighbourhoods and even blocks.

A variety of statistical computer programs and mapping software is used to analyse the data.
