Meet the newest member of the Rotary Club of Ladner

Our newest member delivered her classification talk. Janice Dooks is originally from Chilliwack. She has five siblings, including a twin sister.

She worked in Delta for CIBC. She study at Acadia University in Nova Scotia and then returned to Delta to the CIBC and then received what she described as an unlikely transfer to the Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean.  She helped introduce the first credit cards in the Caribbean.  During her years working for the bank in the Caribbean she visited 37 islands often with unique challenges. Travel documents were often questioned by various island officials. Her Canadian passport often got her onto one of the islands when other bank employees were turned away.

Janice lived through hurricane Ivan in September 2004. She described the island as looking like a war zone. There was extensive damage, much of it caused by water.

Janice is an avid warm water scuba diver and active with slow pitch.

She is now a mortgage broker with The Mortgage Advantage group.

Welcome to Rotary Janice.
