Endowment/Major Gifts Adviser for The Rotary Foundation in Canada, Carol Tichelman, spoke to Ladner Rotary members on November 7th about endowments and major gifts and their value here at home and in communities around the world.
Carol Tichelman joined Rotary in 1992 when she was working a bank manager in Prince George. In 1996 she transferred to the Rotary Club of Chilliwack where she served on many of the committees and twice as club president.
While Chair of the Youth Exchange Committee, she worked with her counterparts in two other clubs to form a tri-Club effort that is still ongoing. Her first international service trip was in 2004, delivering wheelchairs in Mexico. Five years later she took her first National Immunization Day trip to Ethiopia. Carol has been back eight times since and taken other Rotarians with her.
She has served her District 5050 as District Training Chair (2008), Conference Chair (2009), Assistant Governor (2009-2011) and District Governor (2020-2021).
