Volunteer Opportunities for August 2009

Rob Wright of South Shore Cycles (Rob and his bike company are incredible community boosters) is a member of the Rotary Club of North Delta and has an opportunity for you to be rewarded with a free Sept 20 afternoon boat cruise with Team Coastal.  There are several events in our community and many are supported by local Rotary Clubs here and across the line in Washington.  Anyone needing a bike, accessories, bike service, please support Rob and his shop (located in North Delta beside the Cactus Club). Here are some community events happening in the next few weeks that need volunteer support from people like you.  Invite your friends to volunteer, have a great time volunteering and then you & a guest can enjoy a free cruise with appetizers out on the ocean.
If there are any people that could help us with these events, it would be very much appreciated and you will of course be rewarded with an invite on the boat cruise with a guest.
 

TEAM COASTAL News:

 

Volunteer Appreciation Sunday September 20th - BOAT CRUISE 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Tickets $20 each or 2 free tickets for help with each of the following events

 

Sunday August 9th Delta Half Marathon

This event was taken over by the club 5 years ago. Portions of the proceeds of this event will buy bikes for our youth program, support North Delta Rotary and pay for the Volunteer Appreciation.

 

Friday August 7th Package Pick Up 5 to 8 pm South Shore Cycle - 2 people

Saturday August 8th Package Pick up 10 am to 2 pm The Run Inn Tsawwassen

 

We need 34 Road Marshals for 2 hour shifts from 7:00 am to 11:00 am . Location is the LadnerLeisureCenter and we will provide you transportation from the center to your corner.

 

We need 8 people for the water stations.

 

We need 8 people for registration and course set up.

SATURDAY AUGUST 15th RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver)

Route Marking Thursday August 13th or Friday August 14th.

Burnaby - Vancouver

Port Moody - Burnaby

Maple Ridge - Port Moody

Aldergrove to Langley 

 

We need 6 people to help with rider support in Langley from 8:00 am to 11:00 am

We need 6 people to help with Rider Support in Port Moody

 

We need 4 people to assist with bag unloading at the Coast Hotel in Vancouver from noon - 2:00 pm.

 

Route Volunteers:  

Any people that want to ride the course from the Aldergrove border crossing into FortLangley or Port Moody are welcomed as well.

SUNDAY AUGUST 16: ALL DAY SHIFTS

 

Team Coastal Cycling is very excited to be hosting the 2009 BC Championships in Abbotsford BC August 16th.  This is our opportunity to showcase Team Coastal and to show our commitment to the sport of cycling.  Can we count on your support for this event?  We need to get a firm count of volunteers to make this event successful.
