LEAD TO SERVE & LEARN

Rotary is an organization of successful business and community leaders and professionals. Team building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, and communication are just a sampling of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance. Being a Rotary leader provides further experience in learning how to motivate, inspire, and guide others.

Leadership is an essential aspect of Rotary. Rotary offers opportunities and programs to help emerging leaders develop their skills. Through these groups, participants strengthen their leadership skills, serve their communities, increase their world understanding, build friendships, and more.
There are other benefits to assuming a leadership position at Rotary. The organization’s leaders gain access to world-class training that prepares them for their roles. As they ascend the ranks, they also expand their networks to include accomplished professionals from around the world.
Rotary clubs offer a variety of leadership opportunities for members looking to develop their skills and make a meaningful impact. Here are some ways you can get involved.
Club Leadership Roles: Positions such as Club President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Chair allow members to take on responsibilities and guide the club’s initiatives.
Mentorship Programs: Rotary clubs often provide mentorship opportunities where experienced members guide newer ones in leadership development.
Youth Leadership Programs: Rotary sponsors programs like Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Interact clubs, which allow members to mentor young leaders.
District Leadership Opportunities: Rotary Club of Ladner is one of 48 Rotary clubs in Greater Vancouver, up the coast to Prince Rupert and across to Prince Geoerge. Members can serve on district committees focused on areas such as membership growth, public impage, diversity and inclusion, and community projects.

A club committee where you can contribute your knowledge and expertise is one opportunity to lead and learn. Or you may wish to try something different.
