Linda Low is a Rotary Peace Scholar who has dedicated her career to promoting peace through dialogue and community engagement. Having grown up in Kelowna and lived in Vancouver, while attending and graduating from the University of British Columbia and starting her career, Linda shares in this brief video how Rotary programs and membership have provided valuable opportunities to build connections, grow as a leader, and advance peace efforts globally.
While she was studying as a Rotary Peace Fellow in 2016, at Duke/University of North Carolina Peace Center, in a Master's Degree program sponsored by Rotary International, she founded “Facilitating dialogue" as a program convening diverse voices in facilitated dialogue to reduce polarization.
Eventually, based in Seattle, she became a founding member of the Rotary Club of Global Partners in Peace, chartered in 2022 to unite peace practitioners and Rotary Peace Fellow alumni from around the world.
Earlier in her career Linda served as Associate Director of Corporate Communications for Bell Canada in Western Canada. She also served on the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Bid team. She then served with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) from 2010 to 2016, as Communications Manager for Europe during the migration crisis and in Geneva for five years on the global communications team.
She has been featured in Rotary magazine, was a keynote speaker at the Rotary International Presidential Peace Conference in 2018 in Vancouver and spoke in 2022 at the Rotary District 5040 Million Dollar Dinner in Richmond, BC
