Container on its way to Chile

The container of medical and dental equipment for Iquique Chile sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ladner was loaded on Saturday, July 20 2013. It will arrive in Iquique in 6 to 8 weeks.
The load included 30 hospital beds, 9 manual and 2 electric wheelchairs, a full dental office including chair and all the instruments, Infant Incubator, 2 ultrasound machines and boxes and boxes of medical supplies and equipment.
The equipment and supplies are donated by hospitals, medical centres, senior’s facilities and dental offices in Metro Vancouver and other locations in BC. Rotary World Help is a multi-club and multi district Rotary project.

The cost of shipping the container was $8000. The estimated replacement value of the 35,000 pounds of material shipped is in excess of $200,000.00.
