Cruise Weddings
Our speaker on October 2nd was Chris Scurr from Royal Ocean Events. Chris is a travel agent with an office in Ladner that specializes in cruise ship weddings.
Chris and his wife Tonia have been in the cruise wedding business for 10 years.
His company provide complete, worry-free coordinated cruise ship wedding packages on Cruise Ships and at destinations like Seattle, Vancouver and more. They arrange to perform marriage ceremonies from Alaska to the Caribbean. Their wedding coordinators take care of every detail.
The company specialize in destination weddings. They have organized up to three weddings on a ship in one day while the ship is in port, including in Vancouver. A cruise ship wedding can be a tenth of the price of a standard wedding. They offer VIP boarding on the ship so guests only attending the wedding and not on the cruise can board and disembark quickly.
Only ships registered in a few select countries allow a ship’s captain to actually perform weddings on board.
The cruise ships like the wedding business as it introduced a lot of new people to cruise ships.
