Rotary District 5040 Governor Don Evans, with partner Deb Sankey, and Assistant Governor Wayne Connorton, made his annual visit to the Rotary Club of Ladner on October 24, coinciding with World Polio Day.
To mark World Polio Day on October 24, club members had their pinkie finger nails painted purple, an indicator in polio vaccine campaigns overseas that a child has received the vaccine
 Ladner Rotary members hold up their pinkie fingers, painted purple, to mark World Polio Day, as a special day in the global campaign, started by Rotary in 1985, which has reduced the number of cases from 350,000 annually to 12 as of this month. With individual donations from club members and the club overall, $4065 was raised for the global End Polio campaign. | |
