Neurodiverse children using the facilities of Reach Child and Youth Development Society (REACH) in Ladner have greater opportunities to learn, play, develop friendships and participate alongside their peers with new equipment purchased with a $4,000 donation by the Rotary Club of Ladner. The new equipment supports REACH’s transition from a part-time preschool into a full-day childcare program.
Families with neurodiverse children, in Delta and other communities, now have access to an inclusive and nurturing environment of this full-day childcare at REACH.
This expansion to full-day childcare, according to REACH Foundation Executive Director Renie D'Aquila, provides the stability and flexibility parents need to work while knowing their children are receiving the individualized support and opportunities which enable them to flourish and reach their potential.
“This investment will have an impact well beyond the children and families who benefit today,” says D'Aquila. “With more families having both parents in the workforce demand for full-day childcare continues to grow. Delta needs additional quality childcare spaces that are welcoming and accessible to children with a wide range of strengths and support needs."

By helping REACH build this new childcare capacity, the Rotary Club of Ladner is investing in a more inclusive community—one where children can grow up feeling that they belong and families can remain connected to the community in which they live and work.
Ladner Rotary has continued its support of REACH over the years and was one of the early supporters of the capital campaign which led to the opening of its current, modern facility in the centre of Ladner in 2018.
