Farewell to La Diva

Ladner Rotarians, spouses and friends gathered at McKee house to celebrate “The Year of La Diva”, Linda Ottho Sunday June 24.  The theme being lyric Opera many people dressed in black and white.  The first people to arrive were treated to arias from the Fliedermaus.  Later on, a quintet from the Delta Youth Orchestra delighted the audience with tunes from popular operas. All the while Joanne Allin, wife of President-Elect Ray Moschuk, and Rotarian Sandra O’Keefe read fortunes with Tarot Cards.

During the roasting, MC’d by Denis Denischuk in his best Bermuda outfit and El Supremo, Linda receive a spartina plant, a glass flower vase in the form of a boot, a new camera and a beautiful bouquet of roses.  Linda was really happy to have brought new members to the club, to have started the Interact at Delta Secondary and to have gained recognition to the club for the eradication of Spartina Anglica from our shores.

Directors present received a parting present from La Diva and the audience recognized the work of our new Paul Harris Fellow Jeff Norris, a.k.a. Mr. Auction. Pictures are courtesy of Captain Ray, our new leader.
