As nutritious food continues to cost more and more it has become even less affordable for some families in Delta.
All of the net proceeds from the Ladner Rotary “Shred for Food” event on Saturday, September 19th, will be going to the South Delta Food Bank plus the club’s “food pantry” for Delta Secondary School students, from families in need, on weekends during the school year plus the Deltassist Christmas Hampers program for about 600 families who need a hand up to celebrate the festive season.

Ladner-based companies, Ideal Door Ltd., Millenium Pacific Greenhouse and Fortis BC are sponsoring the September 19th Shred for Food event open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm beside at Eastlink (Delta Cable) at 5381 Ladner Trunk Road in Ladner.
A donation of $15 per banker’s box of paper dropped off for secure shredding on the spot in Ladner site will help with food security for those who need a hand up.
Any individual, company or organization can bring their old tax returns, credit card bills, business records, bank statements, and personal information documents so a shredding company can safely and securely shred the paper on the spot.
“Thank you once again to local residents and businesses,” says Ladner Rotary co-president Lynn Cameron, “who have enabled us – and you – to provide over time thousands of dollars in net proceeds to those who live and work among us and need it the most.”
