The essence of our community and why it deserves our love and appreciation was the theme when Past Rotary District 5040 Governor Chris Offer gave the invocation at a meeting of his fellow Rotary Club of Ladner members on July 23, 2024. Communities, he said, are the places where we live, work, and build our lives.
Our community is not just a geographic location, he said: "It is a living, breathing entity made up of the people, traditions, and values that shape our everyday experiences. Loving Delta means recognizing its unique qualities and cherishing the connections we share with our neighbors."

Loving Delta also means investing in its future. When we care deeply about our community, we take steps to ensure it thrives. This might involve supporting local businesses, participating in community events, or volunteering our time and resources to help those in need.
As Rotarians, we are committed to service above self, and there is no better place to start than right here, in our own backyard.
Our community also reflects our shared history and culture. By loving and preserving it, we honor the legacy of those who came before us.
This includes the origina By showing gratitude for our community, we plant seeds of compassion that ripple outward. A friendly smile to a stranger, supporting a local cause, or simply picking up a piece of trash - these acts create a more positive and welcoming place for everyone.
Let's embrace the heart of our community. Let's find ways to show our love through our actions, big and small. Together, we can create a community that thrives and inspires us all.
