Ladner is #1 in Donations to the Rotary Foundation

Past District Governor Leo Nimsick deserves our members' "thank you" for his hard work in the past several years.  PDG Leo has worked tirelessly in encouraging our club members to participate in the Every Rotary Every Year (EREY) program of donating annually a minimum of $100US to TRF.  At last count, we have over 17 Rotarians participating in the EREY program.  In addition, PDG Leo also led the charge in enrolling members for the District 5040 Paul Harris Society, committing to making $1000US contribution to TRF annually.  At last count, our club has four members in the Paul Harris Society.

In 2007-2008, PDG Leo also coordinated two TRF Major Donor gifts, $10,000US or more in lifetime contributions to TRF.  Past President John Thomas and wife Lindae Thomas topped their contributions to TRF to exceed $10,000US during 2007-2008.  Past President Chu Wu and wife Ruby Tsai also became TRF Major Donors.  PDG Leo Nimsick together with PDG Michael and wife Beryl Cruise are the other Major Donors in our club.  The Rotary Club of Ladner now has more existing Major Donors than any other club in District 5040.

At this year's District Foundation Dinner, President Peter Podovinikoff continues our club's commitment to contribute to TRF.  Peter and Molly Podovinikoff made leadership contributions to name additional Paul Harris Fellows.  PDG Leo Nimsick, PP Denis Denischuk, PP Mike and Kathy Story, and PP Chu Wu and Ruby Tsai were also at the Foundation Dinner representing our club.

Thanks go to all the members who have contributed to TRF in 2007-2008.  Let us support President Peter in making contributions to TRF in 2008-2009, so our work toward world peace will continue to advance.
