Thanks to South Delta residents and business people who participated in the Rotary Club of Ladner's "Shred for Food" event on September 19, 2026 the club can contribute $3,000 net proceeds to food security in our community. On the spot shredding of boxes filled with paper thanks to Eastlink at its property on Ladner Trunk Road.
The Ladner Rotary sponsored food "pantry" at Delta Secondary School for students from lower income families who can take food home on weekends is receiving $500 from the proceeds. Deltassist's annual Christmas Hampers for about 600 people and families who cannot afford a Christmas celebration meal is receiving $1,000. The South Delta Food Bank is receiving $1,500.
Ladner Rotary Co-President Lynn Cameron says, “We are so grateful to Delta-based companies, Ideal Door, Millenium Pacific Greenhouse and Fortis BC who continue to make this Shred for Food event possible as sponsors and to the many of our local community members who showed up for shredding all to make our community a better place for those who need a hand up. Thank you too to Delta Secondary students in our club’s sponsored Interact Club who joined us.”
