Ladner Rotary is providing the volunteers for directing parking for the 3-day Barnside Harvest Festival and our club is going to receive "monetary commission" from the Organizers which will help fund Rotary projects by the Club.

When you volunteer for a shift to help Ladner Rotary with on site parking, you will receive:
- A Festival Pass for the weekend so you can see any of the bands or visit the booths & food trucks on the Festival grounds

- A meal voucher good at one of the food trucks

- An invite to the Appreciation Party in the VIP area on Sunday where there will complimentary snacks and beverages

- Barnside Festival Volunteer T-shirt

Either send an email to mike@idealdoor.ca and let me know which days you are available and that you are flexible for any position/shift or use the Volunteer Sign Up Sheet to volunteer for a specific position and specific shift.

Volunteers will be using a scanner to authorize pre-purchased parking vouchers and will be using a Square to collect credit card payment (or cash) if driver does not have a pre-paid parking voucher. This will be a position where it will involve a lot of standing plus there will be chairs to use when no traffic

Volunteers will be directing traffic to specific "parking stall" as drivers enter Paterson Park: This will primarily be a position where you will be standing all shift

Volunteers will also be monitoring traffic at Ladner Leisure Centre, Delta Hospital and Mountainview Manor: This is mainly a stationary position with a chair provided

Please ask your spouse/partner, family members and friends to volunteer with you (minimum 19 years of age). In 2024, the Festival has expanded and we have 55 shifts to fill (11 more shifts than last year).

Definitely needing Ladner Rotarians to volunteer for multiple shifts and volunteer a shift at the Ladner Booth inside the Festival Grounds.

We may have to reach out to outside Clubs and share the proceeds if are short volunteers.

Rotary Booth at 2024 Barnside Harvest Festival

The Rotary Club of Ladner has been invited to have a booth on the Festival Grounds on Fri Sept 13 - Saturday Sept 14 - Sunday Sept 15.

Please consider volunteering for at least 1 shift at our booth.

Please put your name forward and either select a shift or let us assign you a shift.

We will need at 2 volunteers per shift and there are 8 shifts.

As of August 7, we have 4 of the 16 volunteer positions filled (future District Governor Dean Hsieh has volunteered for 1 shift and Penny Offer has volunteered for 3 shifts) so we need 12 more volunteers.

We will be displaying what Rotary does, some of our local and international projects and will be hoping to catch the eye of interested persons attending this Festival.

At the very least, we can get some PR for our club and our projects but maybe we will find persons interested in being involved in some of our projects and maybe interested in joining our club.

Festival Open Friday Sept 13 from 4 PM - 10 PM:

We are going to use our District owned "OWL" communication device to make this happen from Florida to south Delta. This is a in person lunch meeting. There is no Zoom from home option.

Join Ladner Rotarians for the 2024 Ted Towers Night at the Races at Fraser Downs.

They are holding a reservation for our club and there is a max of (30) persons that can attend. This social event is in honour of Ted Towers, a long time Ladner Rotarian who for many years owned and raced horses at Fraser Downs and Paterson Park in Ladner.

Doors and Buffet open at 6:00 pm and the harness racing starts at 7:00 pm . The buffet offers a variety of options including meat, chicken, fish, pasta, rice, potatoes, assorted salads, dinner rolls, assorted desserts and fresh fruit

Featured are floor to ceiling windows with multi levels of terraced dining and individual TV monitors at each table to showcase live racing. They also have a casino downstairs.

Cost is $40 per person and is partially subsidized by Happy Dollar fund. Gratuity & GST included.
